Mallory finished up her rockstar week by sharing her special poster and pictures. It was great getting to know Miss Mallory this week.

It's Friday which means it's buddy day!  We went on a shape hunt with our little friends. And then took advantage of the weather with some play time.

Every week, we have a poem we do numerous things with. This week's poem was comical. On Fridays, we play the "mystery poem reader's" taped reading of the poem. Students have to guess who was reading the poem.  Kendall did a great job this week.

Team building Friday!!!!! Every Friday, we will unite and work together to do some sort of a task to build community. Today, we had to get hula hoops around the circle without unlocking hands. We started in small groups with one hula hoop and ended all together with several!

Wednesday, September 27

Aydan Moe shared his final rockstar day Monday since he was absent Friday. Here he is sharing his 10 special pictures.

Zac used his tiger paws to buy a show and tell. He brought in a Minnesota license plate from his current home state and shared a little bit about Minnesota.

Mady had the end of the day giggles with Watch the Mouth.  Her line was, "I have funny teeth."

At the end of each day, the last thing we do is pass the microphone around to share "happy thoughts."  Sometimes it's a joke, sometimes it's a shoutout for another person or group of people, sometimes it's just something that made that person happy that day.  A great way to end on a positive note!!!

We survived a SUPER hot Friday

We enjoyed the warm weather with our little buddies!

Mrs. Schneider came in and WOW'ed us with her talent. She played her guitar and sang a very fun song.

We let go of 2 more butterflies today.

Ethan cracked us up with his attempt at Watch the Mouth. It's not easy, but it's fun!

A Normal Day

Finally after testing and other interruptions, we had a "normal" scheduled day!

In Writers Workshop, we learned how to buzz with our turn and talk partner for mini lessons.

Also in writing, we brought our "insides" out and found pictures that represent things that get our creative juices flowing for our writing ideas.  Students cut magazine pictures out and decorated the cover of their writing notebook.

One of our reading mini lessons today was to remember reading is more than just reading the words. We had a fun correlation to chex mix (and of course it made a nice snack when we were done).

We got in groups this afternoon and practiced reading our poem of the week in a "different" voice. This group is reading it to us in a really, really scared voice!
