A few mosquitos didn't spoil our time (but they sure tried VERY hard). Students had a blast rotating through 5 team building activities at the low ropes course!

Mallory awarded Kyra our "keep the quote" last week.  A great example of Kyra demonstrating this quote is when she helped her brother, who was struggling to complete homework, at home. Instead of badgering him, she explained the importance of homework and how it will help in his future.

Mady B. led us in MMKO this morning!

Emma is our rockstar this week. She shared her 3 special things. We look forward to getting to know her this week.

We reviewed our genres by going to the school library. We went on a hunt to find book examples listed on our sheet. This was a great reminder of how our library is organized and helped many of us add to the list of books we want to read this year.

We are doing our pretests for the writing genres this week. Today students wrote the best informational story they could in 45 minutes. You could literally hear a pin drop with the concentration going on.

Emma picked our quote this week!

These 3 groups finished off the week by leading the pledge. It was fun to see our classmates on the "big screen."

We spent some time in writing this week generating ideas of narratives we can write about.  We created heart maps that helped us reflect on the people, places, things and activities that are closet to our heart.

Mrs. Domasky shared her tank with us so we could see a butterfly emerging from its chrysalises. We were able to catch the whole thing!  Thanks, Mrs. D.

We had our first official Fun Friday. I apologize I didn't get more pictures. I was in charge of the gaga ball center and couldn't peel away. Take a look at Teigue being celebrated for winning a round. Nothing slows this athlete down- not even a boot on his healing foot.

We ended our Friday with the Fall Fundraiser kickoff. Check folders for all the information. Remember if you are not into selling things, there are different options to donate money to the school and still receive some of the great awards.   We were lucky enough to sit by our 4k buddies so they could help us be good listeners 😉
