Busy Monday

We dove right into our week!  We had a productive MMKO,  crazy play practice a few times today, a visit from our SWAT team and a 40 book challenge finisher!!

We are doing a WHOLE school read aloud called Beezus and Ramona. Mr. Mockert kicked it off by reading the first few pages with us. Looking forward to a great week in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday.

Our SWAT team talked about the effects of smoking. Students had to run first with "healthy, normal lungs" and next breathing through a straw to symbolize a smoker's lung.

They also talked about the effects advertising has on kids.

A few kids even did some acting today.

Last, but not least, ANNA is our next 40 book challenger!!  She worked hard, loved Harry Potter the best and completed her challenge. Off to Culvers we go this week!

National Read Aloud Day

We were blessed to have a few visitors join us on Read Aloud Day!

Mr. Gustavas' student teacher, Mr. Joe read to us first!  His book was hilarious.

She picked a very special book given the crazy week we had again.

We had a 2 visitors from Rosenow's bank partner, Horicon Bank.

Jadyn was our rockstar this week! We enjoyed hearing about her life.

A Valentine Day Success

We had a great day yesterday. We enjoyed showcasing our boxes while the school enjoyed voting for them.  Everyone did a great job.

We won the Golden Broom Award at MMKO for having the tidiest hallway.  The kids were excited (and I was shocked). Glad to hear we are helping our custodians out! 

Valentines to our Penpals

We wrote Valentine Letters to our Lakeshore Penpals today. Students had to incorporate candy hearts into their letters. They had a blast reading all the fun (and some "ewww") sayings.

Week of February 6, 2017

Anna was put in the "hot seat" at MMKO this week. She emphasized the hard work and GRIT it takes to be a great speller.

Kamdyn and Tyler hit 30 Books

Chalk up another 10 for Tyler and Kamdyn. They are on their way to completing the challenge!

40= Addison

Addison has been on a mission to complete the challenge all year. She spent all weekend reading so that she could start the week as a 40 book champ. Way to go!

S.W.A.T (Students Working As Teachers)

We had our first visit from our Fondy High SWAT team. They talked about peer pressures and how to handle stress.

Halden was our rockstar this week. Having him share his personality is always a treat!

Spelling

On our "activity" day, each group played a game to practice their weekly definitions. Some played Pictionary and tested out their drawing skills. While the others played a friendly game of dominos.

Buddy Day

We had some fun with our little buddies today. We played Valentine Buddy Bingo to get ready for the special holiday next week.
