Spirit Week....

We are having a blast beating the winter blues with spirit week at Rosenow... Take a peek at some of our outfits. Monday was favorite book character and Tuesday was twin day (or triplet, quadruplet...)

I have been focusing on positives in our room and rewarding those that are on task, following the directions given. Students earn tickets when they are caught being a stellar 45er. We have been doing fun drawings each day. Yesterday, these 4 lucky winners took part in a Pop Rocks candy challenge.

Kade hit 10 books!!! She loved the book Marley and Me about a dog and it even inspired her to read another one about a dog.... Old Yeller!  Keep up the great work, Kade.

Brody is our rockstar this week.   He brought in an adorable stuffed puppy that reminds him of his black lab at home.

Leah is our rockstar this week.  A mini book about her was created for her parent letter day. The students enjoyed seeing the pictures of Leah and reading the things her parents included about her life.

Our quote from last week was awarded to Taylor.  Leah noticed a particular time in gym class where Taylor kept her spirits up.

One of our main learning targets the past few days/week has been to identify the text structure being used in a nonfiction book. This week we played U-Know (a version of Uno) to practice this tricky concept!

Kyra hit 10 books this week!  She is already on her way to 20 as she is finding great titles.

Kade was awarded the Kendall's quote of the week! Way to go, Kade.

Here we are busy planning out the floor plan of our future gingerbread houses!  Students had to be within a specific area and perimeter causing them to plan carefully!

Then they engineered their plans!  It was interesting for a few :)

All Done!  The smell of sugar is in the air.

We performed The Grinch for our 4k buddies. They did great!

We were blessed with Easton as our Rockstar!!!

A visit from the awesome Cardinal Singers

And a little entertainment from the teachers!

We had SOOOO much fun being little elves. Thank you to all of our parents who helped make it such an enjoyable week. We are about to give our last gift!!

Here are few snap shots of us revealing who we were! Everyone got 3 guesses who they thought had them. There were many very surprised faces!

Our thoughtful gifts...

We had a wonderful party! As always, thank you to Mrs. Ciske for organizing it. Thank you to all who volunteered snacks and goodies and thank you to the moms who came in and set it all up!  We are so blessed.

We started our day off finding out what people did for 12 days off!

We also began the 2019 school year by making a resolution. Students reflected on some goals and choose one word to represent their 2019 goal. Check with your child on their word and plan to achieve it. They all did great!

Lastly, we watched the ball drop together and counted down to the new year, while reflecting on our goal and toasting on another. Bring on 2019!!!
