A look at our week:

In writing students has to see how well they followed directions. If they looked over it closely before they began they noticed the last directions said only do #1 (pull out a piece of paper). Only 4 students read through all of them carefully enough to notice this. The rest were shouting out random phrases, writing sentences and drawing random shapes. It was quite comical on my end!

We got to know a classmate by interviewing them for a Powtoon video. Each student took the new facts they learned and turned it into an awesome video. Ask them to log in and show you at home :)

Our reading learning target this week was to explore the different reading genres to get ready for our 40 book challenge this year.  We started the week with a scoot around the room, reading various blurbs about books and deciding which genre it fell into.

We met our 4k buddies this week. Many 45ers told me, "wow, they are a lot of work. I can hardly keep up with them. They sure talk a lot."  Made me giggle.

Successful Book Tasting. Students enjoyed Cafe Mentink where they were able to "sample" the different genres we learned about this week. Each different course offered a different genre where they had 2 minutes to read a book and then critique it.  While dining on their books, they also enjoyed the snacks many of you sent in. Thank you!
