September 26th-29th... A look back on our week

I apologize for the lack of pictures this week and bombarding you with them all today! I kept forgetting to take home my computer at night and finding time during the week can be impossible! Enjoy a peek at our week.

A new seating arrangement is a good way to shake up the week and get to know new friends!

Joshua started off our Monday by explaining the wrap up to his Rockstar from the previous week. Due to the field trip, we did his Friday activity

We did a gallery walk this week in reading. Students circled the room and read other children's reading responses and wrote their thinking in graffiti style next to the author's work. We got some great ideas on strong reading responses.

For brain breaks we do a website called, Go Noodle. I have  a great group of boys that "rocks" out together!

What are you wondering Wednesday?

In writing this week, we analyzed each other's papers thus far, helping one another to set goals.

This week we started a new end of the day routine. Our game called, "Watch the Mouth" is a battle between the class and myself. I give a phrase to one lucky student who tries to get the class to guess it in one minute or less. Oh, did I mention we put a fun mouthpiece in to make it extra difficult (don't worry they are dishwasher safe and Mrs. M takes them home).  It's a hoot to watch and fun way to end our day.

Zeniya is a our new rockstar this week. Here she is sharing her favorite book.

4th Graders are practicing for their math test through a few games this week.

Our I/E block is finally coming together. Kids are given a list of choices to sign up for and work on during our 2 station rotation. Some choices are individual, while others require a partner or 2!  No matter their choice, they work at a level 1 to ensure all learning is taking place.

Trey wrapped up our day trying to get the class to say, "Warm Beef Meatballs."

Our favorite time:  Buddies. Today, we showed our buddies how to use their classroom website ABC Mouse

In reading today. we discussed story arcs. We used a chapter from a class read aloud to arc the chapter and find the different parts.

More I/E stations going beautifully!

  3. Thanks for taking the time to put this all together each week! Love the fact that I can ask more specific questions to Sophie about her week after scrolling the blog vs. the generic "how was your week?" ❤️
