Last Friday, we did our first escape room! This genre macho man below was trying to "lock" us up. We had use the knowledge we've been learning about genres to unlock his safe before time went off. It was VERY difficult and stretched many of us. But I LOVED how no one gave up and everyone stayed positive in their thinking.
We even had a team escape!
Emma was our rockstar last week! Loved getting to know Emma and her sweet personality.
Kolten was our rockstar this week. We enjoyed learning about Kolten and all his great qualities.
Evy helped us guess the secret word!
Isla earned the quote of the week from Emma last week. Thank you Isla for being you!
Multiple times an hour, I'd have someone asking me if the book order came yet. AND IT FINALLY ARRIVED! What a wonderful thing for all to get a brand new book. We spent this week working on thank you letters to instill that important value too.
Here is our quote from this week. Thank you to Eleanor for picking a wonderful phrase to keep close to us all week: In A World Where You Can Be Anything, Choose Kind
Adam happened to be wearing this shirt on Monday!
Eleanor awarded Mady W her quote. I loved how she didn't say anything specific Mady did that week but instead talked about how Mady is always "just kind."
We did some team building today. Students had to work together to solve some Hinkie Pinkies. They are given a clue and the answer is a 2 word phrase that rhymes.
Unhappy Father= Sad Dad
Friday Fun Day: Board games and technology.
We ended our week with a class meeting and reflecting on our first month of school. Right away, I told the kids my teacher heart was happy because the Kudos square with by far the fullest. We are always reflecting in room 5!
