Soaring to Success

Our airplane challenge fit perfectly into our school theme: Soar to Sucess. Students worked in groups of three to research and design an airplane that they thought would soar the furtherest. Through trial and error, they decided and built an airplane. As a class we competed against one another to secure 2 classroom winners.  Our "5th" grade team winners were Landon, Sean and Wyatt.  Our "4th" grade team was Dylan, Terry and Jamiere.  Both teams successfully beat the other grade level winners to go onto the championship round!!!  The championship round consisted of the top winners from 3rd, 4th and 5th in front of the whole school following our fundraiser kickoff! I'm proud to say the 2014 Soar To Success winners was the 4th grade team!!! Nice work everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are pleased to announce the winners of the whole competition was a 4/5 team from our classroom: Dylan, Terry and Jamiere!

1st Day Success- We Saved Fred!

Our worm friend, Fred, was sailing and his boat capsized!  Poor Fred didn't know how to swim and his lifejacket was stuck under the boat, while he luckily was on top. Students had to save Fred by getting the lifejacket around him without using their hands, only paperclips!!  It was quite the team effort!

Open House-Kick off to the start of a great year!

Thank you to everyone who came to open house. It was so fun to meet all the students, parents, siblings and special friends. Some students were excited, others weren't sure if they were quite ready, either way take a peek at these big smiles below!!!
